Citations

Structure

  • Each of the 7 questions, which you answer, must be answer with minimally the follow. - A thesis statement of approximately 140-280 characters stating your view on the question. - A supporting citation, either from the 6 sources provided above, some other content of the course, or a source you find yourself.

Submission Instructions

  • Submit a PDF to ckdeutschbein@willamette.edu.
    • The subject should be [AI 101] Final Submission
    • You have infinite resubmits up to the deadline; I just grade the latest.
    • If you early submit, I will try to get your course grade to you early.
      • Depends on how many early submits come in.
  • I will try to reply to confirm I’ve received them for your piece of mind.

Scoring

  • Graded on AP Scale for argument essay.
  • I will “curve” the AP raw scores such that meeting all structure minimums (7 each of thesis and citations) corresponds to an A- on the final, for a course grade of A if labs were completed.
  • I will not grade late or “too short” submissions.
    • If you are struggling to meet the length minimums, this is a sign you should provide more evidence for your claims, either in argument or citation.

AI Usage

  • You may use AI/LLMs/ChatGPT et al. but I don’t expect it to be able to:
    • Easily pull quotes from long-form video essays.
    • Have your own opinion on any of the seven main questions.
  • Include AI generated text in quotations, and provide citations to AI generated ideas, as you would to any other source, such a video essay or Wikipedia.
  • AI/LLMs/ChatGPT et al. do not count toward your seven total citations.
